Ohio Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse Declares Fundraiser "Huge Success"

Jeff Longstreth
Executive Director
Ohio Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse

Dear Friends of OCALA,

As you know, last week was Lawsuit Abuse Awareness Week and OCALA launched our first ever statewide TV ad campaign. Thanks to the help of our supporters here in Ohio, we were able to raise the $20,000 that we needed to be on FOX News in primetime across the state. The ad was a big hit according to those who called the office to lend their support. You’ll also be happy to know that the ad apparently struck a chord with the personal injury lawyer community. We had a few calls from some personal injury lawyers who were not too happy with us to say the least. If the personal injury lawyers are upset we must be doing something right.

We also supported the ad with a statewide media blitz. On Monday, we were featured on the 6pm and 11pm news broadcasts on WLIO-TV, the NBC affiliate in Lima. We were also featured in several Internet news stories from around the country on sites such as the Dallas Morning News,, and Yahoo. On Tuesday, we did a 15 minute interview with Bill Cunningham on 700 WLW-AM in Cincinnati. WLW is the largest radio station in Ohio and we were very fortunate to get on one of its top programs. On Wednesday, we were featured on the 12pm, 6pm, and 11pm news on WHIZ-TV, the NBC affiliate in Zanesville. We were also featured throughout the day during newsbreaks on WHIZ AM and FM. Finally on Saturday, we were featured in an article in Ohio’s largest newspaper the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

We are still working to get the clips of the TV and radio broadcasts, but some of the print stories are linked below. You can also view the TV ad at our website

Thanks again, to all of you who helped make this week such a success.
