Keith A. Teel
Keith
Teel, a partner with Covington & Burling in Washington, D.C., devotes
much of his practice to addressing litigation problems through
legislation. Keith has directed efforts that resulted in the enactment
of more than 30 civil justice reform measures throughout the United
States, involving broad product liability and punitive damages reforms
and narrower measures, such as laws establishing sensible limits on
appeal bonds.
He has testified before dozens of state legislatures, and
chairs ATRA's Tort Reform Agenda Committee. In addition to his extensive
involvement in civil justice reform and other federal and state
legislation, Keith litigates tort and complex insurance disputes, and he
is admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark
Office. He received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of
Law.
