CACI is the only
business association that works at the Colorado State Capitol to
improve the business climate for all sizes of business from a
statewide, multi-industry perspective. What CACI accomplishes is
good for all businesses, and that's good for the state's
economy. CACI, in short, is the long-term custodian of the
state's business climate.
The CACI lobby team
and CACI members meet face-to-face with state policymakers and
governmental officials to inform and educate them about the
importance of supporting business. Throughout the year, CACI
monitors government rules and regulations to protect and enhance
the ability of businesses to operate successfully in Colorado.
The Office of the
Governor, the members of the Colorado General Assembly, and the
heads of state agencies and departments recognize CACI's
leadership role on behalf of the business community.
CACI is both the
sword and the shield at the State Capitol for business: CACI
aggressively fights for laws, policies and regulations that help
companies. It also strongly opposes legislative and regulatory
efforts that would harm the business community.
CACI's victories have
saved businesses millions of dollars each year. Over the years,
CACI has won critical reforms for the business community on such
issues as environment, government spending and taxation, tort
and civil justice, health care, workers' compensation,
unemployment insurance, and K-12 education. In the area of
taxation, for example, CACI's victories have included
simplifying the income tax, repealing the state unitary method
of taxation and lessening the burden of the onerous local
business personal property tax.
A private, non-profit
organization, CACI's work is funded solely by its members.
