From the Report’s Introduction:
“During the 2003-2004 term, the Michigan Supreme Court
issued 78 opinions. While some received significant media
coverage, national and statewide, many were published unnoticed
by all but the most avid court observers. For this reason, we
felt it important to continue to update the general public about
the Supreme Court’s work. To this end, we have completed our
third report—a complete analysis of the 2003–2004 Term3 of the
Michigan Supreme Court. As in previous reports, special care
was taken to examine each opinion, noting the holding of the
court, the prevailing party, and how each justice voted. In
addition, we have highlighted some of the most significant cases
